Arrow introduces Shiratech iCOMOX condition-based monitoring products

1 min read

Arrow Electronics is offering new versions of the Shiratech iCOMOX intelligent condition monitoring box, introducing more ways to connect industrial assets with the cloud and to enable predictive maintenance extending equipment lifetime and saving energy.

Shiratech’s iCOMOX open platform built with Analog Devices’ sensing technologies, ultra-low power signal processing, communication and power management provides an easy-to-use solution for monitoring conditions from the surface of equipment.

With fully integrated vibration, magnetic field, temperature and audio sensors, iCOMOX can provide early detection of machine failures in condition-based-monitoring (CBM) applications.

Its battery-powered modules are IP66 rated, CE and FCC certified and ready to mount with a selection of optional adapter plates, and come with user-configurable CBM software embedded. The iCOMOX Data Acquisition Kit and developers’ software kit (SDK), also available, are intended to help developers build intelligent condition-monitoring solutions for deployment.

iCOMOX NB-IoT contains an LTE-M/NB-IoT/EGPRS modem to share sensor data, status and analysis over a low-power wide area (LPWA) cellular connection, enabled by global connectivity services provider, Arkessa. iCOMOX PoE features a 10/100Base-TX Ethernet port and adds flexibility to power associated equipment using Power over Ethernet (PoE).

Both new versions extend the iCOMOX platform in addition to the existing SmartMesh IP 2.4GHz 802.15.4e wireless communication. The iCOMOX PoE offers a wider frequency response range from dc to 11 kHz, compared to the battery-powered SmartMeshIP and NB-IoT models with 1.5kHz bandwidth for vibration analysis.
