Anglia targets volume with new site

Anglia Components has launched Anglia Live, a website which it says is the first such site aimed at engineers designing for mass production. The site same day shipment with part availability information to ensure only devices recommended for new designs are used.

Steve Rawlins, ceo, pictured, said the site represents a 'missing link'. "It's a service that allows customers to take projects seamlessly from design to volume production." But he added the site also builds on Anglia's values. "Anglia Live captures the exceptional service that we've always delivered to our customers and extended it by making it available online 24/7." He acknowledged the site was late to market, but said he believed it had the best search engine amongst its competitors. The site is based around a parametric search engine that has been populated with data entered by Anglia's staff. Rawlins said because competitive sites take data from manufacturers, the information isn't uniform; for example, not bringing in 10,000? resistors when the user searches for 10k?. "With Anglia Live, users will see all devices rated at 10,000?." Other features include predictive search based on Anglia designations and industry standard part numbers, along with images and manufacturer's datasheets. Rawlins claimed every device on the site is just three clicks away from the home page, with the exception of passives, which add a further selection. Once the product has been selected, users can see stock figures, planned deliveries and pricing information. Users can access data on more than 300,000 parts and will enjoy free delivery on orders of more than £30.
