11bit a/d converter runs at up to 200Msample/s

The ADS58C48 from Texas Instruments is a quad channel 11bit a/d converter with sampling rate up to 200Msample/s. According to the supplier, it uses innovative design techniques to achieve high dynamic performance, while consuming extremely low power when operating from a 1.8V supply.

It features third generation SNRBoost technology, which is said to overcome signal to noise ratio limitations caused by quantisation noise (for bandwidths of less than Nyquist, Fs/2). Enhancements to SNRBoost technology snr to be improved over bandwidths of up to 60MHz and separate coefficients can be programmed for each channel. The device has digital gain function that can be used to improve spurious free dynamic range performance at lower full scale input ranges. TI says SNRBoost technology in the ADS58C48 provides an increase in snr of up to 4.3dB at 185Msample/s across a bandwidth of 60MHz. The ADS58C48 is available in an 80pin tqfp, while the dual channel ADS58C28 and the ADS58B18, which features a buffered input, are available in 64pin and 48pin qfns.
