EEE and the Environment Conference

1 min read

November 14-15, 2018 sees the leading conference on product environmental regulation for manufacturers, importers and distributors of electrical equipment return to Hilton London Heathrow.

Now in its 20th year, RINA’s EEE and the Environment Conference concerns environmental regulation affecting the design, manufacture and disposal of electrical and electronic equipment (the “EEE” of the conference title). Such regulation includes the likes of the EU Ecodesign, RoHS and WEEE Directives and the REACH Regulation and their international equivalents. The conference also covers responsible sourcing in the supply chains of the electronics and engineered goods sectors.

The conference continues to attract authoritative speakers and, in 2018, we look forward to hearing from representatives of the trade associations ADS, GAMBICA, Lighting Europe and techUK. We will also host industry speakers including Kerrill Grealy of Meggitt (on REACH), Dr Freimut Schroeder of Siemens Healthcare (on a product Sustainability Index), and Julian Lageard of Intel/EPRM (on conflict minerals). They will be joined by WeiWei Luo of the legal practice Beveridge & Diamond (on China RoHS/REACH), Romain Letenneur of the pan-European Producer Compliance Scheme WEEElogic (on various matters pertaining to take-back), and Michael Sawyer of the UK Office for Product Safety & Standards (on UK enforcement of regulation including RoHS, ecodesign and energy labelling). Other speakers will be announced in the run-up to the conference.

The conference takes place at the Hilton London Heathrow Airport (T4), which is conveniently located next to Terminal 4, with a walkway straight into the main terminal.
