ARM and the future of microcontrollers

1 min read

RS Components, supporting Hitex (UK) is hosting a one-day conference titled: 'ARM and the future of microcontrollers' at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham, on Tuesday 19th May 2009.

The day will open with a keynote presentation from ARM and will be followed by a series of 40 minute presentations from suppliers using this technology. Hitex has brought together speakers from the main silicon vendors to present on technologies from the new ultra-low-power Cortex-M0 core to the multi-core Cortex-A8 systems with laptop-like-power, including: Freescale, Luminary Micro, NXP, ST and TI. Key tool vendors, such as Keil, Microsoft and National Instruments, will also deliver papers on auto coding tools, feature rich operating systems, middleware and the new Cortex microcontroller interface standard. RS Components will be presenting its Embedded Development Platform (EDP), which is based on the highly successful STR912 microcontroller from ST. The EDP consists of a baseboard able to hold a combination of up to four CPU or application modules, an innovation in this technology area. This solution from RS removes the continual need to invest in individual development boards, a process which costs the engineer time and money. To find out more about the event, the agenda and abstracts of the presentations, please visit www.hitex.co.uk/armseminar. Tickets can be purchased from www.hitex.co.uk/tickets at a cost of £40. A hot lunch and refreshments are included in the price. Places are limited and early booking is recommended.
