Three phase BLDC motor driver from Microchip

Microchip has announced the MCP8024, a three phase BLDC motor gate driver with an integrated power module.

The device includes functions that power dsPIC digital signal controllers and PIC microcontrollers, with capabilities to drive six N channel mosfets. The MCP8024 operates across a voltage range of 6 to 28V and can withstand transient voltage up to 48V. It provides high integration analogue, such as three current sensing operational amplifiers; an over current comparator; mosfet drivers and a bi-directional communication interface for a complete motor system design. The driver is available in a thermally enhanced 40pin QFN 5 x 5mm TQFP package. Specified over a temperature range of -40 to 150°C, it is suitable for a range of applications in the automotive and industrial markets.
