Stepping motor control drivers offer 'industry's highest' voltage and current combinations

Toshiba Electronics Europe has introduced five new next generation stepping motor control drivers.

The devices were designed using Toshiba's BiCD 130nm mixed signal process technology and are said to offer the industry's highest voltage and current combinations. Targeted at high power applications, the TB67H302HG combines the highest voltage and current combination in its class and is rated 50V/5.0A. The TB67S213FTAG and TB67S215FTAG are rated 40V/2.5A and are housed in a compact QFN-36 6 x 6mm package for medium power applications. Toshiba claims they reduce power consumption by 50% compared to previous generation devices. The last drviers to be included in the series are the TB62261FTAG and TB62262FTAG, which are rated 40V/1.5A and targeted at low power applications. All of the new motor control drivers have a mixed decay mode, which Toshiba says improves the response characteristics of the motor drive current by changing the current path, for optimum motor driving.
