Sponsored by OKW: IP67 aluminium enclosures with snap-on device

Design engineers are frequently asked to develop electronics equipment that can be installed, or replaced, in an instant.

To meet this need, ROLEC have developed the new 'aluCLIC' enclosures which feature a snap-on mounting device that replaces the traditional wall mounting screws. With this mounting device, pre-assembled systems can be mounted in situ without the need to open the enclosure. Thus the electronics can be installed and replaced with just a simple click. The 'aluCLIC' enclosures are manufactured in die-cast aluminium and are painted light grey, RAL 7035. Three standard sizes are offered: 130 x 90 x 70 mm, 160 x 110 x 70 mm and 200 x 130 x 70mm. There are no visible fixings on the case, as the lid and base section are assembled by fixing screws on the underside. The lid section has a full recessed area for mounting a keypad or product label. The enclosures are sealed to IP67 protection class which can be increased to IP 69K, on demand. M5 screw bosses are provided in the lid and base for mounting PCBs and assemblies. The unique 'aluCLIC' mounting device is manufactured in black POM plastic and features three spring loaded catches which engage into apertures on the underside of the base. The enclosure, snaps on to the mounting device, and is dismounted by inserting a flat screwdriver. Prices for the enclosures start at £45. ROLEC offers a full customising service on these enclosures with CNC milling, drilling, silk-screen printing, assembly of cable glands and terminals and much more, providing a fully finished housing ready for fitting the components.
