Panasonic launches "PA-N Relay" for PLCs

Panasonic has developed and released a "PA-N Relay" that it claims will help PLC manufacturers to develop products that meet new safety standards. The relay is also expected to contribute to improved safety and reliability of industrial equipment.

The relay has been developed to comply with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards and is certified to the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Inc.'s standards for programmable logic controllers used to control production facilities at factories. The product achieves a breakdown voltage of 3000V, as well as showing high shock resistance and low power consumption.

To enhance the energy efficiency of industrial equipment further, Panasonic has reduced the relay’s coil power consumption to 110mW, 10% less than previous iterations.
