Navigate through digital power system design

Version 5.2 of Intersil's PowerNavigator software is now available. The package, which can be downloaded free of charge, helps system designers to configure, validate and monitor systems featuring the company's PMBus enabled digital power products.

New features included in version 5.2, combined with a drag and drop interface, are said to make it straightforward to change the features and functions of a digital power supply design without having to write code.

Three innovations have been included in v5.2.

  • PowerMap adds more real-time information to the power rail blocks, including device name, phase count, output voltage and output current.
  • Rail Inspector guides users through the power supply parameter set up
  • RailScope simplifies system validation by giving users the ability to plot all device telemetry.

According to Intersil, visual sequencing lets users sequence up and down multiple rails using drag and drop. Fault monitoring tells users exactly why a rail shut down, while configuration files can be created, saved and loaded for production programming, speeding system development. Full projects can also be saved.
