Miniature clock oscillator endures extreme temperatures

Precision Devices has announced the introduction of a new miniature clock oscillator the OC8037 which is targeted at extreme temperature and harsh environment applications.

According to Precision, extreme conditions are supported by the new oscillator which has been designed to provide an extensive range of operating temperatures including -40 to 85°C, -55 to 125°C and additional options to support even higher operating temperatures. The OC8037 also offers a high shock resistance of 5000g (at 0.3ms, ½ sine) and a high vibration resistance of 10Hz to 2000Hz at 10g. The oscillator offers an operating frequency range of up to 160MHz with a square wave HC-CMOS/AC-CMOS output, a frequency stability of +/-50ppm output and two supply voltage options: 3.3 and 5V. Typical applications for the new oscillator include avionics and aerospace systems such as airborne computers, cockpit instrumentation and displays, automotive systems and medical equipment. The new miniature clock oscillator is available in a RoHS compliant 4pin SMD ceramic package with dimensions of 8 x 3.7 x 2mm. The oscillator can be supplied in 1000 units on tape and reel and is available immediately from Precision Devices and through distribution and representative partners across Europe.
