Mantracourt launches fast USB strain module

A fast USB strain module has been created by the Exeter-based company Mantracourt Electronics.

Aimed at the Test & Measurement sector, the FSU-SSB is designed to couple with dynamic, fast-moving applications that require high speed measurements. According to the company, the device is particularly suitable for impact, drop, vibration, materials and non-rotational torque testing.

Based on the USB strain module DSCUSB, the FSU-SSB connects to a PC via a USB port and features a temperature drift of 5ppm/°C and a non-linearity reading of 25ppm.

The toolkit gives real-time data analysis, and automatically calibrates and captures up to 30 minutes of data at 4800samples/s. FFT frequency analysis allows users to visualise data and establish patterns, and the toolkit can highlight data of interest and delete unwanted data.

The device is free to customers.
