Line conditioning modules

Gaia Converter, a specialist of power converter modules, has launched a range of line conditioning modules for dips, brown out, transients and spike protection for military, avionics and similar high reliability applications.

The first line conditioning module available has 50W power range. The product is designed to extend and monitor the input voltage bus to provide continuous system protection against cranking, drop outs, transients and spikes to be compliant with MIL-STD-1275A/B/C, MIL-STD-704A/D/E/F, EN2282 and D0160D/E/F. This line conditioning module provides three forms of system protection. During low dc input line conditions, it operates in 'boost' mode to maintain a secure input voltage for the dc/dc converter system. Below this input voltage it will operate as power fail switch, shutting down the system to prevent damage from excessive operating currents. And finally it provides transient and spike protection up to 100V/50ms and 600V/10µs. The second line conditioning module has a 300W power range. This product is designed to extend and monitor the input voltage bus to provide continuous system protection against transients and spikes to be compliant with MIL-STD-1275A/B/C, MIL-STD-704A/D/E/F, EN2282 and D0160D/E/F. This line conditioning module provides two forms of protection. During low dc input line conditions it includes a power fail protection device providing a system safety shut down if the input power bus drops below 9VDC. It provides transient and spike protection up to 100V/50ms and 600V/10µs. Both the PGDS-50 (50W) and LGDS-300 (300W) families are optimised to operate up to 105°C without an additional heatsink for power supply systems from 4 up to 300W power. The modules are housed in a package of 25 x 38mm, making them suitable for integration in dense and compact onboard systems. All Gaia converters are designed and manufactured in house in France in automated manufacturing and test machines.
