IR claims the device offers more than 88% efficiency for a 40V/1.3A high brightness led load and delivers a higher efficiency solution compared to alternative Flyback converters. It is optimised to achieve PWM dimming down to less than 2% light output and offers protection features such as half bridge over current protection, latch immunity and ESD protection.
"By incorporating both control stages into a single IC, the new IRS2548D provides an integrated solution for led power supplies that simplifies design and helps reduce overall system cost," said Peter Green, led group manager, IR's Energy Saving Products business unit. "It also provides significant energy savings."
