IDT launches variable gain amplifier with ‘industry’s lowest’ noise

Integrated Device Technology has announced a new digitally controlled, intermediate frequency variable gain amplifier (vga) for receiver systems located in cellular base stations and other wireless infrastructure equipment.

The F1200 has been designed to offer a low noise figure of less than 3.0dB, high signal to noise ratio and a 23dB control range with 7bit resolution. It also features low distortion to provide increased spurious free dynamic range, a high gain accuracy and a 200ohm differential input and output impedance. "Our new vga provides the high snr and low distortion that the next generation of wireless receivers require," said Fred Zust, general manager and vice president of the Communications Division at IDT. "The IDT F1200 is the first in a series of rf signal path products that IDT plans to offer, providing our customers the edge they need to advance their products."
