GPEG launches 'electronic paper' display range

GPEG has introduced four 'electronic paper' (e Paper) displays, which use E Ink imaging film to deliver ultra low power consumption panels in sizes from 1.44 to 3in.

According to the company, the electrophoretic displays are bistable and require no power to maintain an image on the screen. As E link technology reflects light rather than emitting it, the displays are said to be easier to read in high ambient light conditions, especially in direct sunlight. The panels require a simple coin battery or solar power device to operate and feature sunlight readable displays with a wide viewing angle and 200x96 (111dpi) image resolution. GPEG claims any image can be displayed with excellent resolution and contrast. These include POS electronic price tagging, logistic container ID, medical devices and smart labels. The 1.44, 2 and 2.7in models are designed to provide SPI (40pin) interfaces, while the 3in panel is equipped with a TTL (37pin) interface. The panels are operate over the temperature range of 0 to 50°C and can be stored at temperatures between –20 and 60°C.
