Dielectric antenna supports rapid design with fast application and pcb matching

Acal Technology is sampling a new surface mount dielectric antenna from Advanced Crystal Technology which it says combines competitive pricing with a choice of compact footprints and the flexibility to be characterised for specific applications.

According to the company, the ACTDAE1575R helps gps, wlan and bluetooth applications to achieve reductions in the size and cost of their end products as well as providing a viable second source alternative. It is available in five footprints ranging from 15 to 25mm square, or 13 x 12mm. With a standard operating frequency of 1575.42MHz and 50ohm impedance, the antenna is designed to provide bandwidths of 4 to 15MHz. Custom frequencies are also available. Acal claims fast matching of the tuning and ground planes to specific applications or pcbs allows the ACTDAE1575R to support accelerated design cycles. To further accelerate the transition through design and prototyping to full production, the company provides specialist support during development using its UK in house testing services for frequency control devices. These services include the testing of crystal and oscillator parameters and characteristics, shock and solderability testing and high temperature storage.
