Desktop medical and ITE 36-65-Watt power supplies meet the latest energy efficiency requirements

XP Power is launching its AKM36/AKM45/AKM65 series of desktop AC-DC power supplies rated at 36W, 45W and 65W.

Aimed at the healthcare, ITE and industrial markets, all versions are said to meet the latest U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) Level VI and EU CoC Tier 2 energy efficiency requirements, while offering 2 x MOPP medical-grade isolation and very low no-load power consumption.

AC input for all versions is 90 -260VAC for worldwide use and outputs available include 9V, 12V, 15V, 18V, 24V, 30V, 36V and 48V depending on version.

The 36W part is class II, earth-free construction, while this is an option on the 45W and 65W versions. Input connectors are IEC320-C8 ‘figure of eight’ type for class II parts and IEC320-C14 type when class I is specified. This connector can be provided with an optional cable restraint for applications when accidental disconnection would be critical. Output connection is via a flying lead with standard jack plug.

These parts feature 4kVAC isolation rating, 5000m altitude operation and safety approvals to UL/EN/IEC 60950 for IT equipment and EN/IEC/CSA/ANSI-AAMI ES 60601-1 for medical equipment with 2 levels of patient protection (2 x MOPP).
