Cliff expands product range to satisfy growing demand

Connector manufacturer, Cliff Electronics has announced the availability of a new range of electrically conductive rotary and slider knobs. The knobs are designed for use with motorised faders and controls widely incorporated on audio and lighting desks.

The conductive slider and rotary control knobs are available in black and chrome plated finishes with a range of styles and fittings for most standard shafts. According to Cliff, the increase in the use of rotary encoders is the driver behind the introduction of a new K18 encoder knob that features 'innovative' dual finger dimples for fast and slow rotations. The knobs are available in black and grey, with either 35 or 50gm weights for, what Cliff describes as a 'desired tactile feel'. According to Cliff, the knob will fit a 6mm splined shaft. Two further knob product ranges complete the update of Cliff's range. The K88 series of skirtless knobs are designed for rotary switches, potentiometers or encoders. The knobs also come in conductive plastic for motorised controllers. The K88 knob is designed to fit 4, 6 and 6.35mm D shafts and 6 and 6.35mm splined shafts. The knobs are available in a choice of black and grey standard colours with an opaque version for illuminated encoders. Coloured caps are available with or without a 'marker line' in standard colours of black, white, red, grey, yellow, blue and green with clear or translucent caps available for use with illuminated encoders. Cliff's KMK range of high quality finish anodised aluminium knobs complete the new introductions. Available in a choice of anodised black, silver and blue with either 10 or 25mm diameters, the KMK knobs feature a machined aluminium shell. Melvyn French, sales manager at Cliff Electronics, said: "We are continuing to see increasing demand for our whole control knob range as well as fast growing new opportunities as new products are demanded of us by the marketplace. Manufacturing in our own UK factory not only ensures competitive pricing on even small quantities but also allows us to respond quickly to demands from our customers for new products, such as our range of conductive knobs. We are also very happy to discuss with customers how our extensive range of control knobs may be customised to meet specific requirements and we are pleased to offer a full custom knob manufacturing facility for customer's specific requirements, including design and pre-production modelling." Applications for Cliff Electronics' new control knobs include sound mixing, audio broadcast, lighting control desks and instrumentation panels.
