6U VME board features i7 processor

A 6U VME single board computer based on the 4th Generation Intel Core™ i7 processor has been announced by Acromag. Called the XVME-6510, the board features Intel 8-Series QM87 PCH chipset, two ruggedised SODIMMs with up to 16Gbyte of DDR3L removable memory and 32Gbyte of flash.

Air cooled, the SBC features dual PMC/XMC sites, DVI-D display, and programmable CPU power limits for heat sensitive applications. With support for VxWorks and Linux, the board is available with extended temperature options and expansion capabilities.

According to Acromag, two PMC/XMC sites can be used in any combination, while an optional P0 connector allows two Gigabit Ethernet connections. One PMC/XMC module can be replaced with the optional XBRD-9060 I/O expander module, allowing front panel I/O to be increased. A further option is the XVME-9640 rear transition module for easy access to all P2 connector’s I/O signals.
