Michael LeGoff, the chief executive of Plessey Semiconductors in Plymouth, UK, has stepped down with immediate effect.

Iain Silvester, Chief Financial Officer and Dr. Keith Strickland, Chief Technology Officer, have been jointly appointed as Co-Chief Executive Officers of the company, and will continue to follow the current business plan of building LED engines for the emerging Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Head Mounted Display markets with its proprietary micro-LED display technologies and processes.

LeGoff has been the CEO of Plessey since 2009, when he founded the company with the acquisition of legacy assets. He took over as Chair of the Board of Directors of nearby Plymouth Science Park last October.

Following the announcement of his resignation, the following statement was made by the company: "After a short transition period, Michael will leave to pursue other opportunities and we thank him for the significant contribution he has made to the business and wish him all the best for the future.”
