Sensor fusion design centre for Bracknell, says On Semi

ON Semiconductor is establishing a new sensor fusion design centre in Bracknell. The move is said to reinforce its position as a leading supplier of image sensors for automotive ADAS and viewing applications.

“The automotive image sensor market is growing rapidly, driven through higher attach rates for ADAS and viewing systems and new applications for image sensors, such as driver monitoring, e-mirror and 360° sensing,” said Ross Jatou, general manager of the Automotive Solutions Division (ASD). “Expanding our design capacity positions us to extend our leadership in established segments and to deliver new, world-class solutions for emerging segments.”

According to On Semi, the combination of the new design centre with its recently acquired mmWave radar technology and design centre in Israel means it is ‘uniquely positioned’ to provide sensor fusion solutions for next generation highly autonomous vehicles. The Bracknell design centre, which will report to the ASD, part of On Semi’s Image Sensor Group, joins design locations in the US, Japan, India and Israel.
