Second generation bus converter range launched

Ericsson has unveiled the first model in its second generation of digital Advanced Bus Converter products. Based upon the FRIDA II platform, the BMR456 is aimed at applications that require fast response time, tightly regulated intermediate bus voltages and high efficiency.

Designed for telecom and datacom applications, the BRM456 is available in two input voltages ranges: 36V to 75V, with an output power of 420W; and 40V to 60V, with an output power of 468W. Output voltage can be adjusted across a range from 4V to 13.2V via PMBus commands. The BMR456, which features an ARM 32bit mcu, meets the insulation requirements of EN60950, sustains an I/O isolation voltage of 2250V dc and offers features such as: remote sensing; PMBus configurable protection; configurable start/stop; precision delay ramp up; and power management programmability.
