Schottky diode cuts space by 66%
Diodes has announced its first Schottky diode to be offered in the miniature leadless DFN0603 package.
Capable of handling switching, reverse blocking and rectification functions, the 30V, 0.1A rated SDM02U30LP3 is designed to meet the higher density design requirements of portable devices such as smartphones and tablets.
Measuring 0.62 x 0.32 x 0.30mm, it is said to use around 66% less board space than the industry standard DFN1006 and SOD923 alternatives, and be 25% thinner.
The SDM02U30LPS is characterised by a low forward voltage of 0.37V and a maximum leakage current of 7µA, to ensure power losses are minimised and portable battery lifetime is maximised.
