Samsung aims to generate $400billion by 2020

Samsung Electronics has announced by focusing on its lcd, tv and handset businesses it aims to generate $400billion by 2020.

The South Korean chip maker plans to increase its capital expenditure in 2010 with over 5,500billion won being spent on memory chips and 3,000bn won invested in lcds. Its capital spending this year is expected to reach over 7,000bn won including 4,000bn won on semiconductors and 2,000bn won on lcds. The Asian company posted $96.5bn in global sales in 2008. Third quarter net income jumped from 1.22trillion last year to 3.1trillion while sales, including those of overseas affiliates increased 19%.
