Renesas Electronics aims to become 'world's leading power device supplier'

Renesas Electronics says that it aims to achieve a sales growth that exceeds the growth rate of the power device market.

Its power device business accounts for approximately a quarter of the Analogue & Power Device (A&P) business unit, which is one of the company's three core product segments. Renesas says it intends to implement a number of measures. Firstly, it intends to expand its product lineups extending from low voltage to high voltage power devices and develop approximately 1000 new products by March 2013. It then hopes to increase sales in China by 1.5 times by 2010 by strengthening the company's sales structure in that country. The company also aims to double the production capacity from 2010 to 2012 on its 8in wafer lines. Through these measures, Renesas Electronics believes it can increase annual sales of its A&P business in 2012 by 1.2 times from 2010 and continue to achieve an average annual double digit growth.
