Project aims to promote rf innovation amongst EU universities

Lime Microsystems has embarked on a project to boost the rf skills of students across Europe and increase the number of people innovating wireless systems.

The Surrey firm has struck a deal with the STFC's Europractice project that will see Myriad RF brought to the research faculties and teaching labs in Europractice's member establishments. Launched in March this year by Lime, Myriad RF is an open source project aimed at widening the community of rf developers and aiding innovation in the sector. The low cost Myriad RF board is designed to let everyone from experienced industrial designers to students and hobbyists to prototype and create fully configurable wireless platforms that run on almost any communication standard and frequency. "This is a significant endorsement for both our technology and the open source community of Myriad RF," said Lime's ceo Ebrahim Bushehr. "More importantly, it helps bring many creative, brilliant minds to rf innovation and this can only be a good thing."
