Project aims to establish EU as power semiconductor leader

Infineon is leading a €74million project to advance production technology for power semiconductors.

The three year Enhanced Power Pilot Line (EPPL) initiative will involve 32 European partners from industry and research. The aim is to further strengthen the EU as a high technology industrial production site. Sabine Herlitschka, chief technology and innovation officer for Infineon Austria, said: "Infineon is the only company worldwide to produce power semiconductors on 300mm thin wafers. "We are proud and honoured to contribute our experience in this area to the EPPL project and thus to Europe's technology advancement."
