Power supplies offer 'leading' 94% efficiency

Designed to offer a leading efficiency of 94% and a power density in excess of 28 Watts per cubic inch, the low profile units measure 54.5 x 321.5 x 40mm and fit the industry standard 1U package format. Murata claims they lower cooling requirements and also contribute to power savings in customer applications. Additionally, the design is said to offer at least 8% more power than leading competitors in the same form factor. The D1U54P series comprises two models, both of which provide a +12VDC 1200W output and an auxiliary +5VDC 15W output. The devices accommodate the universal ac input range from 90 to 264VAC. Forced air cooling is provided via an internal variable speed fan. The series features a 0 to 60°C operating temperature range.
