Plexus opens expanded UK design facility

Scottish design firm Plexus has officially opened its new manufacturing facility and expanded design centre in Bathgate, West Lothian.

The £9million site, announced in December last year, will bring together design, prototyping and manufacturing under one roof. It is expected to create 130 new jobs. Steve Frisch, the company's regional president, said: "We are confident that our extended UK operations will continue our successful history of regional engineering and manufacturing excellence." Speaking at the official opening ceremony yesterday, Cabinet Secretary John Swinney added: "The work of Plexus and how it has successfully developed high value design and manufacturing solutions for its customers in professional markets is to be commended. "We acknowledge the hard work and commitment from companies like them in demonstrating that Scotland has proven itself to be a location where the outward looking high technology business can thrive."
