Panasonic Corporation is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, having started in a tiny two-room flat in a Japanese village on March 7, 1918 by Konosuke Matsushita.

Since then it has developed into a global electronics company and become one a well-known name among the industry.

Johannes Spatz, president of Panasonic Industry Europe, commented: “Since the very beginning of Panasonic, we’ve addressed society’s needs and developed new technologies, thus enabling people to lead better and more comfortable lives. Our approach to product development has not changed. Technology will continue to evolve and we will continue to support new industry trends as a trusted partner to our customers.”

Looking to the future, Panasonic believes it has identified two areas of constant advancement and fundamental change.

Firstly, the electrification of all aspects of our lives, starting with our homes, workplaces, factories and vehicles, which will have a growing impact on every aspect of life and society.

Secondly, Panasonic supports ongoing developments in the field of mobility as another game changer for the society of tomorrow.

Spatz added: “The product development is becoming increasingly faster and we will see more innovations in the next 10 years than we have over the last 100 years. Electrification, connectivity and automatisation will drive this revolution.

“We can help our customers partake in this revolution, by supporting the development of their products and solutions through the use of combined industry expertise.”
