Online power supply design tools

Vicor has launched PowerBench, a suite of enhanced online power supply design tools to help designers to select the best power supply to meet their requirements. If an standard product does not exist, engineers can use PowerBench to design a customer specific device.

By integrating design, ordering, and manufacturing processes, PowerBench is said to minimise costs and lead time. The tools also provide price and availability quotes. Engineers use PowerBench’s module design system to specify the exact power supply they need and to verify in real time its performance and attributes. Customer specific products specified using PowerBench typically have a $3500 NRE charge and prototypes are usually delivered in less than six weeks. The PowerBench suite encompasses the design of dc/dc converters, ac/dc and dc/dc partitioned power architecture (VIPAC and VIPAC arrays) and a range of power factor corrected ac/dc power supplies.
