Minister for Science and Innovation named

Ian Pearson has been appointed Minister of State for Science and Innovation within the newly created Department of Innovation, Universities and Skills.

Ian Pearson has been appointed Minister of State for Science and Innovation within the newly created Department of Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS). His responsibilities are wide ranging, including such aspects as innovation, the Technology Strategy Board and the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA). He is also responsible for liasion with the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform. Pearson was previously a minister within the Department of the Environment, Farming and Rural Affairs, where he held a climate change brief. DIUS’ role includes making Britain one of the best places for science, research and innovation.
