MeeGo v1.0 now available for designers
Intel has announced the release of MeeGo v1.0 which is available for download at MeeGo
MeeGo v1.0 is designed to deliver computing, communication and internet features with Google Chrome browser integration.
Combining core architecture features of Nokia's Maemo and Intel's Moblin projects, it can be used to create and customise netbooks or begin work on development for other devices such as netbooks, smartphones and in-vehicle infotainment devices.
Releases are planned on a six month basis, with MeeGo v1.1 due for release in October. This version will include support for touch-based devices, such as handsets and tablets.
The development tree for MeeGo v1.1 is now open and various components will be released, including opening the development of the handset user experience in June.
