Intel sets up group to address the IoT market

Intel has created a new organisation designed to increase its penetration into the Internet of Things (IoT) market.

Called the IoT Solutions Group, the group will include Intel's Intelligent Systems Group, as well as Wind River, bringing together its intelligent systems hardware, software, services and platform elements. According to the company, this is the next step in support of the proliferation of IoT implementations across the industry. It says it will deliver solutions for companies that are investing in technologies to both drive operating efficiencies and create new services by connecting devices to each other and to the cloud to transform their businesses. The IoT Solutions Group will be led by Doug Davis, who will report directly to the president and ceo.
