Intel appoints coo as next ceo

Intel has appointed Brian Krzanich as its next chief executive officer with effect from May 16. Krzanich, currently the company's chief operating officer, will become Intel's sixth ceo.

I look forward to working with our leadership team and employees worldwide to continue our proud legacy, while moving even faster into ultra mobility, to lead Intel into the next era." Krzanich began his career at Intel in 1982 as a process engineer, becoming the plant manager of Fab 17 in 1997. He rolled out 0.13µm process technology across Intel's network and was responsible for assembly and test from 2003 to 2007 and for fab/sort manufacturing from 2007 to 2011.
