Highest resolution, fastest sampling, lowest power

The MAX11905 is a 20bit successive approximation register (SAR) A/D converter capable of sampling at up to 1.6Msample/s. According to Maxim Integrated Products, the device offers the highest resolution and fastest sampling rate at the lowest power.

When a similar task is undertaken using delta-sigma A/D converters, power consumption would be around 100mW. Maxim says the MAX11905 consumes only 9mW for the same operation. Featuring internal reference buffers, which not only reduces cost and time to market but also saves space, the MAX11905 is suited to a range of applications, including process control, automatic test equipment and medical instrumentation. With an SNR of 98.3dB and THD of -123dB, the device is supplied in a 20pin TQFN measuring 4 x 4mm and is specified for use in temperatures ranging from -40° to 85°C.
