Five years on … and life is 'quite different' for Neul

Five years ago, in the 14 June 2011 issue, New Electronics reported on the launch, by a team of ex CSR staff, of Neul. We wrote at the time the company was ‘looking to exploit the opportunities presented by white space communications’. In particular, the company hoped it would ‘revolutionise’ M2M communications and other wireless applications, such as rural broadband and smart meter communications.

Five years on, life is quite different for Neul. Acquired in 2014 by Huawei, the company says it is now a leading developer of solutions for a newly emerging standard for cellular IoT set to be announced this month by 3GPP.
