Bright lights of Williams

1 min read

A recent event held at the Williams F1 base highlighted the growing success of events that gel focussed technical presentations with a relevant technical audience.

The event was 'LED Design & LIGHTING Design' and was attended by over 100 delegates who were design engineers, consultants or technical or managing directors. Their spheres of interest included automotive, aerospace, metering, lighting, energy and electronics equipment manufacture. Marketing Director for the event is Harvey Osborn, who commented: "Despite local weather issues, other events running on the same day etc, we delivered our most successful event to date, clearly demonstrating that more old fashion and traditional exhibitions/trade shows are far less favorable than focused events like the forums. The key of the day's event is to carefully select both sponsors and attendees, it's like match making if you like - and it works." Stand-out presentation was delivered by Tony Armstrong, director product marketing (Power) Linear Technology, who flew in from the USA to open the technical Forum with a great presentation highlighting the protection leds require to achieve the right temperature and colour. The topic for the next forum is 'RF and Wireless'. It is on June 25th, also at the Williams centre near Oxford, and registration is now open at www.fortronicuk.com.
