Altera unveils Cyclone V GX fpga development kit

Altera has announced availability of its Cyclone V GX fpga development kit, which it says is the industry's first 28nm development kit targeting low power, cost sensitive applications.

With this release, the company claims it now offers the industry's broadest portfolio of 28nm fpga development kits. "With delivery of 28nm kits across all 28nm families, customers have access to complete development environments, reference designs, and IP cores, which allows them to dramatically shorten design time and spend more time adding differentiating capabilities to their products," said Patrick Dorsey, senior director of component product marketing at Altera. The Cyclone V GX kit supports fpga prototyping, power measurement and transceiver testing. It also includes a PCIe reference design that said to shorten the development of PCIe-based systems.
