800W power supplies suit medical applications

1 min read

Medical power supplies from Excelsys offer 750W continuous output power, with a peak capacity of 800W. Supplied in a 1U x 268 x 89mm package, the devices are said by the supplier to offer 'new levels of flexibility and affordability'.

The XLD 750 powerPac model may be populated with up to four powerMods, with outputs ranging from 1V to 58V dc. Safety agency approvals include UL60950, EN60950 and CE. The XMD 750 may also be populated from the same powerMod range as the XLD 750 and features approvals to EN60601-1 and UL2601-1, meeting stringent medical low leakage current and creepage requirements. Both the XLD 750 and XMD 750 can provide up to eight fully isolated outputs which may be connected in series or parallel to provide non standard voltages, higher output currents or N+1 redundant power systems. Reliability is enhanced through planar magnetics and surface mount electronics. Both units have internal cooling fans and provide a 5V dc bias voltage for system administration, while front panel leds provide a visual indication of system status. Accepting inputs ranging from 85 to 264V ac, the supplies features overvoltage protection and will operate at full load in temperatures ranging from -20 to 70°C.
