A series of ecosystem collaborations to expand the reach of Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear family of wearable platforms with turnkey reference designs have been unveiled at the Qualcomm 4G/5G Summit in Hong Kong.

Qualcomm announced that it is working with leading original design manufacturers (ODMs) and ecosystem players, including Compal Electronics and Longcheer on smartwatches; Huaqin and Thundersoft on 4G kid watches; Franklin Wireless on 4G smart trackers; and Smartcom on 4G connected end-to-end solutions.

These ecosystem collaborations aim to support a range of customers to more quickly develop next-generation wearable devices based on the Snapdragon Wear family of platforms including the Snapdragon Wear 3100 for Wear OS by Google smartwatches, Snapdragon Wear 2500 for open source Android based 4G kid watches, and Snapdragon Wear 1100 and 1200 for smart tracking solutions.

“The wearables space is an exciting and fast-growing segment. Our Snapdragon Wear family of platforms bring key innovations in low power, small size, smart sensing, and superior connectivity to help transform the industry and drive growth across smartwatch, kid watch, and smart tracking segments,” said Pankaj Kedia, senior director, product marketing, Qualcomm. “Working closely with leading ODMs and ecosystem players is essential to expand the wearables ecosystem and help our customers to bring new, innovative wearable products to consumers worldwide.”
