WES – The Power of Change Annual Conference

The Women's Engineering Society (WES) is celebrating 90 years this year and this year's annual conference will be held 11 and 12 September 2009, Surrey University, Guildford.

There is also a gala dinner and personal development workshops on Saturday. Register online at www.conference.wes.org.uk to find some accommodation deals and pick up reduced price entry to Broadlands. Attendance rates for the annual conference start from £64 for students and the unwaged / returners and £80 for others for each day. Book by midnight on 31st July to secure the early bird rate. There are also a number of bursaries available, including some for students living in Scotland. The Power of Change Annual Conference is an opportunity for you to network with other WES members and: • Participate in an event where you can listen and interact with mostly technical speakers from BP, Rolls Royce, Google, National Grid, UKRC and Arup • Be interviewed by the year 8 and 9 girls who are signed up to attend this year's schools event running in parallel and need engineers • The Power of Change gives you an opportunity not only to celebrate the past, but also to come and help shape the Society for the future to inspire more women to achieve their potential as engineers, scientists and technical leaders • If you run a women's network at work, come and pick up some good practice tips on Friday afternoon from CISCO, Google and BP Registration is available through the conference website.
