Rochester expands inventory with 56million devices
Looking to help eliminate potential semiconductor obsolescence issues and reduce lead times, Rochester Electronics has added more than 56million devices to its Factory Authorised Safety Stock (FASSt) inventory.
The shipment of active and obsolete devices includes military products from Analog Devices, flash memory from Intel and Numonyx, 1m Freescale semiconductors, more than 8m devices from Texas Instruments and 30m units from National Semiconductor.
"Our Factory Authorised Safety Stock keeps production lines running smoothly, without any gaps in the production process that could result in a lack of critical devices," said Rochester president Paul Gerrish. "In addition, the FASSt programme helps eliminate the possibility of substandard and counterfeit components from entering a customer's supply chain, as all devices are traceable to the original manufacturer."
