Raspberry Pi competition winners announced

The winners of PA Consulting Group's Raspberry Pi programming challenge were yesterday announced at the company's Cambridge Technology Centre.

The competition challenged schools, universities and inventors to use the Raspberry Pi microcomputer to come up with a device that would 'make the world a better place'. Winning entries included an air quality and weather surveillance device, an automated pill dispenser, and a system to help elderly or disabled people answer the door. "It has been thrilling to see how the Raspberry Pi has been used in such inventive ways in this competition," said Raspberry Pi founder Eben Upton. "Both the programming and the ideas have been amazing. I hope all of the finalists are proud of their achievements and will continue with their coding."
