IoT demand spurs Digi-Key expansion
Digi-Key has added several new suppliers to its line card in response to customer demand for Internet of Things (IoT) solutions.
Over the past year, the company has signed distribution deals with a number of leading embedded and wireless suppliers, including CSR, Lime Microsystems, Nordic Semiconductor, Sigma Designs and Laird Embedded Wireless Solutions.
Dave Doherty, pictured, executive vp of operations at Digi-Key, said: "The IoT is today's fastest growing technology segment, far and away the most exciting development in today's fast paced, volatile electronic component market.
"Suppliers such as these have lowered the barrier of entry for implementation, and we forecast continued expansion as companies look to continue adding this functionality to their designs."
