Sierra Wireless unveils new AirVantage M2M Cloud

Sierra Wireless has unveiled the next generation of its AirVantage M2M cloud, which it says is the most comprehensive M2M cloud platform on the market.
The platform is designed to provide secure two way communication between connected devices and the enterprise. The company says it allows M2M solutions to be rolled out much faster than before and enables them to cost significantly less to develop, operate and scale.
"The whole objective of this cloud offer is to bring agility and simplicity to our customers, so that they can easily develop and operate M2M applications," Emmanuel Walckenaer, senior vp of solutions and services at Sierra Wireless told New Electronics. "We expect to drastically reduce time to market."
Sierra Wireless has also joined the Amazon Web Services Partner Network as an APN Technology Partner. The collaboration is aimed at making it easy for customers to use the AirVantage APIs to build M2M applications that run seamlessly on the Amazon Web Services cloud infrastructure.
The company says the joint solution eliminates the need for any on premise IT infrastructure and will further accelerate time to market while improving scalability.
