POL converters give engineers design flexibility
The NDM family of digitally controlled dc/dc point of load converters from Cyntech Components are PMBus compliant, giving engineers greater design flexibility than analogue power supplies and dynamic control of power systems, including automatic adjustment of control loop compensation.
Power management functions, implemented through a graphical user interface, include voltage sequencing and margining, synchronisation of the controller for multiphase operation, programmable soft start and stop and prebias start up. The converters, which have an input voltage range from 8.5 to 14V and single programmable outputs from 0.6 to 2.5V, are available in two versions: the NDM1-12, with up to 12A output and 95% maximum efficiency, and the NDM1-25, with up to 25A output and 92% efficiency.
Other features include differential voltage sense, 10mV set point accuracy, and less than 2µA current consumption in disabled state. There is integral protection against input undervoltage lockout, output overvoltage and overcurrent, fast overcurrent and over temperature.
