BMZ Group, specialists in the production of lithium-ion system solutions, has invested €7million in a new building in China. Around 800 employees are expected to move to this new location.

Sven Bauer, CEO and Founder of the BMZ Group, explains the investment has been made: “To meet future project requirements, such as for big batteries, and to create the necessary capacity for further growth in the Chinese market.” According to Bauer, the number of production lines with a higher degree of automation will gradually be doubled over the medium term to around 36 lines.

While more space will be available for the production area in order to be able to arrange the lines more efficiently, a supermarket-level storage will also be built close to the production lines, which the Group said will optimise operations and increase efficiency.

Some of the production areas will be equipped with new line equipment right from the start. The existing production lines will moved over gradually. Production will be maintained transitionally in parallel at both sites.

The new building is located only a few kilometers away from the Group's current location in Shenzhen. The 12-storey main building complex comprises a total of around 35,000 m² which includes offices, production, storage areas and laboratories. The total area will more than triple in comparison with the currently available space.
