1 min read

Tuesday 8th to Thursday 10th February, 2011 at the De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel, Southampton.

The main conference sessions, on the 9th and 10th of February, will feature presentations by leading practitioners in fields such as Safety Cases; Projects, Services and Systems of Systems; Systems Safety in Healthcare; Testing Safety-Critical Systems; and Safety Standards. As is a regular feature of the SSS, the first day of the symposium is devoted to a tutorial, led this year by Adelard and the City University's Centre for Software Reliability. Speakers will include Peter Bishop, Robin Bloomfield, Sofia Guerra, Dan Sheridan, Bev Littlewood and Lorenzo Strigini who will describe their overall vision and provide technical talks on a range of themes that need to be addressed in a Safety Case manual. Days two and three will feature papers presented by their authors, all of which will be published by Springer in book form, available to delegates on arrival. Also on day two (Wednesday 9th February) there will be an exhibition by leading vendors of tools and training for safety-critical systems development, followed by a banquet in the evening. The speaker at the banquet will be Graham Braithwaite, Professor of Safety and Accident Investigation at Cranfield University, who will discuss Learning about safety by accident.
